Activity | Burtonians Photographic Portraits

  • Burtle Village Hall Burtle Road Bridgwater, Somerset TA7 8NB United Kingdom (map)

Free drop-in

Burtle residents are invited to sit for a photographic portrait, which will be taken by professional photographer, Richard Tomlinson. Residents who have their photographs taken will receive the digital file for their image, plus a free print will be given to the youngest and oldest attendee at the photographic sessions. Photographs will be taken on a first come, first served basis throughout the day.

The morning session will take place from 10am - 1pm during Café Burtle, then the afternoon session from 2pm - 4pm.

The book ‘Gie I Burtle’ written by C S John Sparkes featured a number of photographic images of local residents and we are keen to add to the archive as part of the C S John Sparkes A Village Apart, Villages Together project.

Deb, Somerset film Creative Director said;

“We will be at Burtle Village Hall throughout the day and we would love for local residents who live or work in Burtle, or are connected in some other way, to drop in and have their portrait taken. They might like to bring something with them that connects them with the village that could feature in the image. This could be a photograph of a family member who also once lived here or an object, such as their house sign or perhaps something connected to their work. We know that there are still some Burtonians, people who were born in the village, who we’d love to photograph and we’re also keen to meet those who have recently moved to the area.”
