This year for our Ignite Somerset Artist in Residency we are interested in hearing from an artist who would like to participate in Somerset Art Works ‘Open Studios’ but cannot do so. This may be for physical reasons e.g. their studio is physically inaccessible for the public, social factors such as caring responsibilities or for financial reasons.

Workshop | Under 18s Portrait Photography
For ages 13 - 18 | £25 or free for South Somerset residents, we will ask you to provide evidence.
Learn how to get off 'auto' and shoot portraits with professional stills photographer Joss Barratt, an experienced stills photographer working in film, television and documentary production.

Workshop | CREATIVE 3D LiDAR SCANNING
Free
Award-winning creative studio ScanLAB Projects are bringing their immersive installation FRAMERATE: Pulse of the Earth to the Cromer Artspace in Norfolk from Saturday 22nd March to Monday 21st April 2025, and to the Undershed, a new immersive venue at the Watershed in Bristol from the 2nd May to the 13th July 2025, with support from the Arts Council England.
In conjunction with the exhibitions, ScanLAB are hosting a series of hands-on 3D scanning workshops in collaboration with local community arts organisations. They will be visiting the Somerset Film on the 20 May to run three 90 minute sessions.
Please bring something to scan for the workshop.

Editing is one of the least appreciated stages of successful video production, and is vital for creating an effective video or film. On this one day workshop you will learn how to edit a compelling film with Final Cut Pro X.

You’ll develop an idea and find a good story or subject to document, get hands-on experience of working with broadcast quality cameras, lenses, lighting and microphones and look at an initial edit with the editing software available. Bridgwater Together AGM

Throughout the year individuals, community groups and organisations come together to promote and celebrate cultural diversity within our town. Together we organise ‘Bridgwater Together', an annual event in November and other smaller events during the year.
If you would like to get involved, then join us at our AGM this event. There will be refreshments and pancakes to enjoy. You can sign up as a volunteer for the main event in November 2025, bring your suggestions on how to make the annual event even better or put forward an idea for a new event.

Glo-Play: Neon Graffiti & Glo Underwater Creatures
Free | Drop-in for children aged 5+
Fun, free, neon activities to light up grey February days! Come and tag our doodle jam and create glow in the dark designs. Plus shape the live projection in our cafe (for ages 12+).
Create fish, jellyfish, microorganisms and more. Using neon pens and chalk, we will create a mural on our café studio windows and transform The Engine Room into a giant fish tank that will be illuminated after dark.
