Young Environmental Somerset Filmmakers

We are so proud of our young 'Earth in Focus' filmmakers whose films ranging from protecting the biodiversity of the Mendip Hills to the importance of recycling in reducing Somerset's carbon footprint were highly commended by a panel of Judges at last weekend's Frome International Climate Film Festival.

Their films were selected for screening at the Festival from 857 films submitted from around the world. That is really impressive, considering they were all first-time filmmakers. Somerset Film provided the tutoring and equipment but they developed the script and storyboard and worked as teams in front of and behind the camera.

We need to give our young people every opportunity to voice their concerns and hopes for the future.  Our Earth in Focus 'Film in a Day' workshops were made possible thanks to the generous support of the Derek and Clare Stevens Trust.
