Somerset During & After World War 2: The Black Experience
Bridgwater and District Trades Union Council, with the support of the Somerset African Caribbean Network and Somerset Film, is celebrating Black History Month in October 2022 with a special exhibition and evening event.
The celebration event will focus on telling the stories of mixed-race people who were born in the mid- 1940s into the 1950s, from their own perspectives. The event is free and will include a buffet supper.

Exhibition: The Brown Babies
Somerset African Caribbean Network with the support of the Bridgwater and District Trades Union Council and Somerset Film, is marking Black History Month with an exhibition based on the book by Professor Lucy Bland. It tells the "hidden story" about the children of African American servicemen who were stationed in Somerset and Britain.
